Nadine Lustre tells fans: These assumptions need to stop
Since 2020 entered, the famous reel-to-real couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre, popularized as JaDine, shook many fans amid rumors of their breakup. After the two confirmed their split, a lot of fans can’t seem to move on and continue to be detectives on their own, picking every sign that they could relate to the end of the JaDine’s love story.
Nadine, on her Instagram account, posted a photo of a horse running at a beach bay, with only a heart as a caption. However, a certain netizen jd_lolaelsie08 on the social media platform posted screenshots of a social media post, speculating that Nadine’s post had something to do with Taylor Swift’s song “White Horse,” also adding its lyrics.
The said post also included a screenshot of Nadine commenting, “Can you all please, please stop. You’re blowing things out of proportion. These assumptions need to stop.”
Through a joint statement on Monday, January 20, released at Tonight With Boy Abunda, James and Nadine confirmed their “split up, but not for all the reasons that are being spread on the tabloids and social media.”
“After quiet and mature conversations, we decided to focus on ourselves not only for our careers but more for our personal growth as we are still young and we want to achieve as much as we can,” the statement said.
They both thanked their JaDine fans for all the undying support and they hope that it would continue even in the future.
“We agreed that going separate ways was best for both of us. We are in good terms and are still really good friends and will continue to work with each other especially when it comes to music,” they clarified.
Despite this, the controversy didn’t end when netizens dragged in Yassi Pressman’s sister, Issa, and pointed her to be the alleged third-party to the breakup.
This week, Yassi posted a photo of her and Nadine to clear up the issue, with Nadine supporting it by tagging both Yassi and Issa in a post and saying that she loves them both.
James also apologized to the Pressman sisters for getting “dragged into this.”
“There are some messed up people out there,” James said.
