QC’s new justice building operational soon
MANILA —The Quezon City government announced over the weekend that justice seekers will soon have a convenient place in the city as the new, almost completed, six storey building at the QC hall complex is expected to be operational this July or early August.
QC’s new Department of Justice (DOJ) building project is expected to ease the backlog of criminal cases being handled by QC courts, and make prosecution of crimes or offenses better and faster.
It was funded, developed and constructed by the city government and has an aggregate floor area of 7,210 square meters with mezzanine and roofdeck exclusively intended for prosecution of crimes and offenses committed in the city.
Under QC Resolution No. SP 5935,S-2014 passed by the QC Council as required by Section 22 ( c) of the Republic Act No 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, QC mayor Herbert M. Bautista was given the go signal to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Justice (DOJ) headed by Justice Secretary Leila De Lima for the management, utilization, maintenance and security of the new DOJ building at the QC hall compound.
