Gretchen Barretto slams netizen who criticized her good deeds
Actress Gretchen Barretto slammed a netizen who commented negatively on her good deeds, saying that person must be “miserable” in her life.
Prior to the celebration of Easter Sunday on April 1, Gretchen announced on her Instagram account that she would grant 15 wishes from her followers, but noted that those requests should be practical.
“We will be going live on Sunday night to announce whose requests will be granted. Please send and share with us your short stories to @pattympineda through pm (private message) or by posting on her wall. We are asking to keep all requests reasonable please. See you on Sunday!” the actress wrote on March 31.
Gretchen, in another post, announced winners with 11 persons coming from her, four from @mimiyque, and one from @pattympineda.
Some of the requests she granted wished for wheelchairs, milk, cooking wares, nebulizer, groceries, round-trip ticket, free acne treatment, free 10 dialysis sessions, sidecar for a corn vendor, and medicines.
The wheelchairs were given to the two kids with cerebral palsy and a father who has been bedridden for 20 years now, while grocery packages were given to Bacolod fire victims and a grandmother who recently lost her husband to whom she was married to for 63 years.
Despite this, a netizen still criticized Gretchen for posting such acts on social media. The comment was already deleted, but Gretchen’s reply to the user can still be seen in the comments section.
“@mrs_m1116 damn if you & damn if you don’t!!!! Yes, posting simply because it keeps us all aware of what the world needs now is love sweet love… I am doing this to let us all keep grounded & human!!!! It all started on Instagram & so I’d like to be TRANSPARENT IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE… God Bless your poor & negative heart!!!!” the 48-year-old actress replied.
“You must be so MISERABLE IN LIFE THAT YOU CHOOSE TO BE NEGATIVE WHEN ALL ELSE SEEM TO BE JOYFUL,” she added.
While some bashed her for what she did, many of her followers commended the actress for sharing her blessings to those who are in need.
