For the time being, Kris Aquino stays away from politics
As she finished the last of her medical tests, the ‘Queen of All Media’ Kris Aquino indirectly said that she has no interest running for public office for the meantime or at least until December 2019.
In a long social media post, Kris categorically informed the public that she signed “no political participation waivers” for several contracts with some of them expiring in December 2019.
“Nakapag joke na nga ‘ko (I made a joke) on our way back to the hotel na (that) Tarlac politicians no longer have to fear me buying property & establishing residency there,” the TV host wrote.
“I am highly allergic to trees, grass, weeds, and pollen. So that rules out living anywhere that isn’t an urban area for me. So, I cannot start public service from our home province,” she added.
Kris in November last year shared a video where she stressed that she was “born for the political arena,” but pointed out that “it’s not yet my career path for one IMPORTANT reason.”
She said that her mother told her that a stable home life should be a priority, given their chaotic childhood, with the Aquinos in the center of resistance to martial law.
Kris, 47, is the youngest daughter of former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino and former Philippine President Corazon “Cory” Aquino. She is also the sister of former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.
In the same post, Kris disclosed the reason why she flew to the United States (US).
“I flew all the way to San Francisco because this was where they had my most comprehensive records from Dec 2016, BUT also to protect my privacy because we were getting a thorough diagnosis about my frequent allergic reactions,” Kris explained.
According to her, she went to the US for their “strict patient confidentiality” as they did not know what the results would be.
Saying that she does not want to jeopardize the products and restaurants she endorses, Kris noted, “I got all my results today & my fears were unfounded because my allergies are mostly environmental & not from food, fragrances, or any skincare or makeup products.”
The TV host is scheduled to fly back to Manila on Wednesday, March 28.
“Our prayers have been answered because we already know my medical issues & we have the correct prevention information as well as the emergency medication I’ll need. God bless all of you w/ a peaceful Holy Week,” she continued.
