Jake Cuenca says Aussie girlfriend may be ‘for keeps’

MANILA – When asked about his relationship with Australian model Chanel Olive Thomas , hunky heartthrob Jake Cuenca said “I think this one’s for keeps.”

Cuenca told reporters last week, Cuenca that he enjoys Thomas’ company, particularly since she is not part of the world of showbiz. “Sobrang saya ko na nakilala ko ‘yung girlfriend ko. I think this one’s for keeps. Super saya. Nag-e-enjoy ako sa relationship kasi kapag walang taping, hindi taping ‘yung pinag-uusapan, hindi pelikula ‘yung pinag-uusapan,” he said.

The actor added, however, that he would not disallow Thomas from pursuing a career in show business if she ever decide to take that path.

“Ayaw niya eh. Tinanong ko naman. Gusto niya maging host pero pag-arte wala. Kung gusto niya hindi ko siya pipigilan pero wala naman sa mga plano niya ngayon,” he said.

Cuenca reveals that he feels he can be “the real Jake” when he is with Thomas.

“Pagdating sa kanya, ang kailangan ko lang patunayan ay ‘yung totoong Jake. Hindi ko kailangan patunayan ang sarili ko by stature or pasikat. Parang nilabas ko ‘yung pagiging celebrity ko sa panliligaw ko sa kanya. Hindi niya ako kilala. Hindi niya alam ‘yung mga nagawa ko. It was something different for me,” he said.

When asked if he has met Thomas’ family, Cuenca said, “Nasa Australia sila lahat eh. Baka pagkatapos ng ‘Ikaw Lamang,’ pupunta ako sa Australia.

”

Cuenca and Thomas, who were introduced to each other by a common friend, have been together for over two months now.
