ITCZ to bring rains over PH Monday: PAGASA
MANILA —Even as tropical storm “Jolina” has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the country may still experience rains on Monday due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
“Jolina” (international name Pakhar), which exited Saturday evening, was last eyed 2,590 km east of extreme northern Luzon, outside PAR.
In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and possible occasional heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning will prevail over Visayas, Bicol, Caraga, northern Mindanao and Zamboanga Peninsula.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, isolated light to occasional heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning, it added.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds will blow from northeast to southeast over Luzon, and from the southwest to west over Visayas and Mindanao.
The country’s coastal waters will be slight to moderate, PAGASA said. (PNA)
