(PNA photo)MANILA — Pork barrel scam whistleblower Marina Sula on Thursday posted bail at the Sandiganbayan for the graft case against her for alleged involvement in the anomalous purchase of fertilizer for Palawan.
Sula posted a PHP15,000 bail instead of PHP30,000 after her lawyers convinced the Sandiganbayan to reduce the amount for her case.
The Office of the Ombudsman has charged Sula for being the president of Masaganang Ani para sa Magsasaka Foundation, Inc. (MAMFI), who allegedly authorized the purchase of the fertilizer in 2004.
Sula used to work for businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles before becoming a whistleblower.
Napoles is the alleged “brains” behind the PHP10-billion pork barrel and the PHP900-million Malampaya Fund scams.
Sula is now under the government’s Witness Protection Program (WPP) as a state witness in the pork barrel scam, in which some lawmakers have been implicated for allegedly channeling their respective Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) allocations to bogus non-government organizations (NGOs) allegedly operated by Napoles.
