PHILIPPINES – The skies are staying busy as the southwest monsoon or habagat, along with the trough of Tropical Depression Krovanh, brings rain to a large part of the country.

PAGASA expects occasional rains over parts of Central and Southern Luzon, while scattered rain and thunderstorms may hit Northern Luzon and nearby areas due to Krovanh’s trough.

Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon, along with Aklan and Antique, may also experience scattered rains and thunderstorms. Moderate to heavy downpours could trigger flash floods and landslides in affected areas.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country may see isolated rain showers from habagat and localized thunderstorms, with light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas prevailing across the archipelago.

PAGASA said no low pressure area is currently being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation, but residents in areas expecting heavy rain are advised to remain alert.
