What if the next big leap in artificial intelligence does not need a giant data center?

Acer is exploring that possibility with its SFF RTX Spark, a compact desktop concept designed to bring as much as 1 petaflop of AI computing power directly to the desk.

Built around NVIDIA’s RTX Spark superchip, the machine can pack up to a 20 core Grace CPU, a 6,144 core Blackwell GPU and 128 GB of unified memory into a small form factor.

The bigger idea is not simply making a smaller computer. Acer is positioning the machine for local AI, allowing creators, developers and other users to run demanding AI workloads directly on the device instead of relying entirely on cloud services.

That could mean faster responses, greater control over sensitive data and less dependence on remote computing infrastructure.

But for now, the powerful little machine remains a concept, with Acer yet to announce its final price or commercial availability.

Still, the message is clear: the future of AI may not always live in the cloud. It could soon sit quietly on your desk.
