Tulfo says senators to discuss impeachment trial schedule in Monday meeting

PHILIPPINES – Senators will meet on Monday to discuss the schedule of the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, according to Senator Erwin Tulfo.

Tulfo said the senators will determine whether there is enough consensus to move the trial proceedings to the afternoon. The meeting will take place ahead of the scheduled resumption of the impeachment trial.

The proposed schedule change comes after recent inclement weather affected the Senate’s proceedings.

Tulfo said the senators will discuss the matter among themselves before reaching a decision on the trial schedule.

The Senate, sitting as an impeachment court, is expected to continue hearing the case against Duterte once the schedule is finalized.
