Westcoast Comic Con returns to Vancouver with celebrity guests, cosplay and collectibles

CANADA — Comic book enthusiasts, collectors, cosplayers, and pop culture fans are set to gather for another day of fandom as Westcoast Comic Con returns on Sunday, Aug. 23, at the Maritime Labour Centre, 1880 Triumph Street. The one-day collectibles trade show will bring together artists, vendors, celebrity guests, and fans from across Metro Vancouver for a celebration of comics, toys, anime, gaming, and pop culture.

Organized as an annual community event, Westcoast Comic Con has become a destination for collectors seeking rare back-issue comics, action figures, Funko Pop collectibles, Pokémon merchandise, artwork, books, and video games. Running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the event offers attendees an opportunity to browse hundreds of collectibles while connecting with fellow hobbyists and creators in an interactive convention setting.

This year’s convention will feature an impressive lineup of guest artists and personalities, including Vic Mignogna, Robin Thompson, Mauricio Pommella, Senzupen, Steven Scott, Sam Brady, Konn Lavery, Electric Lips Comics, Nick Klie, Talen Greig, and Aida/Yuyu. Visitors will have opportunities to meet featured guests, discover independent creators, and explore the work of local and international artists throughout the day.

Beyond comic books, the convention will showcase a wide variety of vendors specializing in toys, trading cards, anime merchandise, original artwork, and collectible memorabilia. Cosplay also remains one of the event’s highlights, with attendees encouraged to dress as their favorite characters while participating in photo opportunities and connecting with fellow fans who share similar interests.

Admission is priced at $15 for adults, while children aged 12 and under may enter free. Organizers are also offering a half-price admission special from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., allowing late-day visitors to experience the event at a discounted rate. Tickets will be available at the venue on the day of the show, making the convention accessible for both advance planners and walk-in guests.

The Maritime Labour Centre provides more than 7,000 square feet of air-conditioned event space with free parking and convenient access to public transportation, making it an ideal venue for large community gatherings. Its location near Hastings Street and Victoria Drive allows visitors from across Metro Vancouver to attend with ease.
