BANGKOK – According to Bangkok city officials, the death toll from the fire at the Rong Beer Na Ladprao music bar has risen to 30.

This marks the city’s worst blaze in 17 years, with more than 70 people still hospitalized, including 24 in critical condition.

The inferno took firefighters 30 minutes to contain at the venue, which advertised a capacity of up to 600 guests, though the exact number of attendees remains unknown.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and potential safety violations, noting that many victims were found trapped in windowless bathrooms where they likely sought refuge.

Mourners, including former patrons and international visitors left flowers and handwritten condolences in Thai and Korean at the site.
