CANADA – The 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude twin quakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026, left significant damage and destruction on not only the infrastructure, but the daily operations of its citizens. The tragic incident left an innumerable amount of victims as the death toll continues to rise and unidentified victims are found under the rubble of the calamity.
Survivors urgently need support as there are an estimate 3,600 casualties, 10,500 injured, and nearly 680,000 children in need according to the UN estimates.
Prime Minister Mark Carney shared his intention to support them on a post on social media: “On behalf of Canadians, I offer my sincere condolences to the loved ones of those who were lost. My thoughts are with everyone who has been injured or displaced and with the first responders working tirelessly to save lives. Canada is preparing humanitarian assistance to support Venezuelans in the days and weeks ahead.”
Currently, there are organizations that you can donate to help restore essential services to the communities in need, including the UN Crisis Relief for Venezuela and the Venezuela Humanitarian Fund.
