PHILIPPINES – Super Typhoon Bavi is anticipated to bring strong winds and rain to parts of the country starting Tuesday, July 7, even as it stays outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The weather bureau reported Bavi is forecast to arrive by Wednesday, when it will be called Inday. While it is not anticipated to make landfall, tropical cyclone wind signals may be lifted over northern and eastern northern Luzon, with rough seas and gusty situations expected from Tuesday to Wednesday.
As the typhoon moves closer, PAGASA stated it will amplify the southwest monsoon (Habagat), bringing rains to the northern and western parts by Thursday.
