PHILIPPINES – House lead prosecutor Rep. Gerville Luistro confirmed that no documentary evidence has been removed from the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte during the ongoing Senate pretrial proceedings.
Luistro clarified that deciding on the admissibility of evidence is not part of the pretrial conference and will only be addressed when the formal trial begins. While the prosecution and defense teams are currently finalizing their lists of witnesses and documents, Luistro declined to comment on specific details due to procedural restrictions.
She described the pretrial atmosphere as “passionate but professional,” noting that both sides are fully committed to their respective positions: proving the case and defending the Vice President’s innocence.
The impeachment trial of Duterte is scheduled on July 6.
