MANILA, Philippines — Kilusang Mayo Uno, together with All Workers Unity and BAYAN, will lead nationwide mobilizations to mark this year’s commemoration of Labor Day on May 1, urging fellow laborers to join them in their demands, including pro-worker policies.
The groups said they will mainly mobilize in Manila, with separate regional actions taking place across Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol, Negros, Cebu, Panay, and Davao.
The collective call for the nationwide protest will center on the cessation of the US-Israel war on Iran, and to demand accountability from the Marcos government for what they called its failure to address the people’s demand for living wages, lower prices, and sufficient state subsidies amid the crisis.
For the protest action in Manila, the groups said they will join other labor centers and people’s organizations along España Boulevard before marching to Mendiola.
