DOHA, Qatar — The Qatari government has reportedly started evacuating residents living near the US Embassy in Doha following the drone strikes in the country from Iran.
The US Embassy in Qatar has similarly issued an earlier order addressed to non-emergency US government employees and their family members, instructing them to leave Qatar if safe to do so due to the threat of armed conflict.
“The U.S. Embassy in Doha continues to maintain shelter-in-place for all remaining emergency personnel. We recommend all Americans in Qatar do the same until further notice,” the embassy stated.
It also advised Americans in the country to remain vigilant as the Iranian government and its proxies may seek to target them in retaliation for U.S. strikes against Iran.
