McCoy bids farewell in emotional and action-packed episode

“FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” stunned viewers after one of primetime TV’s most popular and hated villains, David portrayed by McCoy De Leon, was fatally stabbed and shot in last night’s (June 24) action-packed episode that drew more than half a million or 673,931 peak concurrent viewers on YouTube.

In a major turn of events in the series, David, who was Tanggol’s (Coco Martin) mortal enemy for many years, made a last ditch effort to redeem himself by reconciling with his brother as the two joined forces against Miguelito (Jake Cuenca) in an epic gunfight.

Apart from the adrenaline-pumping scenes, the episode was also filled with heavy emotions as a grieving Tanggol held the lifeless body of David, who was ultimately killed by Tanggol’s political rival, Miguelito.

As David’s chapter comes to a close in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” netizens commended McCoy’s remarkable portrayal as an effective ‘kontrabida’ where he made viewers’ blood boil every night for more than two years with his many trending scenes and viral confrontations.
