Opens with heartbreaking conflict between son and his estranged dad

ABS-CBN’s newest crime drama and Gerald Anderson’s most awaited comeback project, “Sins of the Father,” debuted strongly with high viewership and became a top trending topic online on Monday (June 23).

The series earned 254,464 peak concurrent views on Kapamilya Online Live and trended on X in the Philippines with the topics #SinsOfTheFather and WAITING4 FRANTSETH AS ARIZO.

Gerald stars as Samuel Trinidad, a bank manager who will be entangled in a crime in “Sins of the Father.” The series premiered with an intriguing scam that pushed Samuel’s estranged dad Mike (John Arcilla) to his death. Can Samuel save his reputation and protect his family amid a powerful force enveloping the mystery?

The latest Kapamilya series earned positive review from film and series review page Maganda Ba?, who tagged the show as “Napaka Ganda” and described it as full of suspense and filled with mystery.

“This show knows how to hook its viewers. From the opening sequence alone, it’s clear this is not your usual family drama. It’s gritty, suspenseful, and filled with mystery that will keep you guessing what the protagonist’s next move will be,” the page posted. “If the rest of the season maintains this momentum, ‘Sins of the Father’ might just be one of ABS-CBN’s most exciting offerings this year!”

Viewers also commended the show’s promising narrative and Gerald’s solid acting in the series.

“#SinsOfTheFather starring Gerald is looking so promising, another masterpiece from ABS-CBN Studios,” an X user said.

“Grabe ang promisinggggg ng #SinsOfTheFather nakaka-excite. Nakakatuwa na ito ang comeback series ng Kuya. Thank you for this series, @JRBcreativeprod,” posted another user on X.

“Gerald, good actor. Start pa lang yan, galing na talaga,” a netizen posted on YouTube.
