MANILA – Results of a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed that 59 percent of adult Filipinos are satisfied with the performance of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The survey, conducted from Dec. 12 to 18, found that 59 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with the administration’s performance, while 23 percent were dissatisfied, and 17 percent were undecided.

The administration retained a net satisfaction rating of +36, classified as “good.”

The administration received “very good” ratings in five key areas: helping victims of disaster (+65), improving the quality of children’s education (+60), assisting the poor (+57), job creation policies (+51), and developing science and technology (+51).

Seven areas were rated “good”: implementing housing programs for the poor (+49), ensuring food security (+46), maintaining an efficient public transportation system (+45), disaster preparedness for typhoons (+44), addressing climate change (+38), telling the truth to the people (+34), and defending Philippine sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (+32).

The administration received a “moderate” rating in ensuring no family goes hungry (+26).

Three areas were rated “neutral”: fighting crimes against citizens (+4), regulating oil prices (-2), and eradicating corruption (-3), while combating inflation (-12) received a “poor” rating.

The December survey showed that satisfaction was highest in Balance Luzon and the Visayas, both at +44, followed by Metro Manila at +31 and Mindanao at +16.

Compared to September 2024, net satisfaction rose by 13 points in the Visayas, while it declined by seven points in Mindanao.

Metro Manila and Balance Luzon saw minimal changes.

Rural areas registered a small decline from +42 to +39, while urban areas improved from +31 to +33.

SWS said satisfaction remained “good” among women from +33 to +36, while it went down slightly among men from +39 to +35.

It hardly moved at good levels among 18-24-year-olds, from +38 to +43, among 25-34-year-olds, from +36 to +37, among 35-44-year-olds, from +38 to +36, and among those 55 years old and above, from +36 to +37.

Satisfaction among 45-54-year-olds, however, dropped eight points from +36 to +28.

Among educational groups, satisfaction rose among elementary graduates (+40) and was largely stable among junior high school, senior high school and college graduates.

It declined among non-elementary graduates from +48 to +37 but remained “good”.

The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 2,160 adults nationwide: 1,080 from Balance Luzon and 360 each from Metro Manila, the Visayas and Mindanao.

The sampling error margins were ±2% for national percentages and ±3% in Balance Luzon, and ±5% each for Metro Manila, the Visayas and Mindanao.
