MANILA – Senator Risa Hontiveros on Monday alleged that dismissed Mayor Alice Guo of Bamban town, Tarlac province has fled the Philippines and has traveled to Malaysia and Singapore as early as July 18.

Hontiveros said that Guo, or Guo Hua Ping, allegedly met her parents, Lin Wen Yi and Guo ZianZhong in Singapore.

“I am now in receipt of information that in fact this person was already out of the country on July 18, 2024 to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,” she said in a Senate session.

Hontiveros said Guo entered Malaysia at 12:17 p.m., having left the Philippines on July 17.

Earlier, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian has alleged that Guo left the country sometime in July using her Chinese passport.

“Mr. President, hindi po pwede ipagkaila na siya ito dahil po match na match po ito sa kanyang Philippine passport na ipa-flash ko ngayon (Mr. President, we cannot deny that this is her because it matches the Philippine passport I will now flashing on screen),” Hontiveros said.

She suspected that Guo may have been able to escape with the aid of government officials.

“Who allowed this travesty to happen? Sino ang may kagagawan nito? Hindi makakaalis si Alice Guo kung walang tumulong sa kanya na mga opisyales ng pamahalaan. Para tayong ginisa sa sarili nating mantika (Who is responsible? Alice Guo cannot escape without the aid of government officials),” Hontiveros said.

Meanwhile, Senator Raffy Tulfo said Guo could have used a private plane, noting that a passenger who wishes to travel abroad using a chartered plane do not have to pass through the usual process.

Derecho-derecho ka na sa gate sakay ng iyong limousine, SUV and then pagdating sa tarmac aakyat na sa eroplano mo and then here comes the Customs and Quarantine. At kung iyon ay kasabwat ni Alice Guo, madaling makakalusot dahil walang CCTV na madadaanan (You go directly to the gate on board your limousine, SUV, then upon reaching the tarmac, board the plane, here comes the Customs and Quarantine. And if that person is an accomplice of Alice Guo, it would be easy because there’s no CCTV along the way),” Tulfo said.

Sen. Grace Poe, meanwhile, urged aviation authorities to check its records for Guo’s supposed departure, whether it’s private or a passenger plane, since they have a master list.

“They should have a master list of who had taken off for an international flight. So that’s one possibility for us to be able to track them,” she said.
