PH administers over 40M doses of Covid-19 vax
MANILA – The Philippines has administered 40,030,388 doses of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine nationwide as of September 15, the National Task Force Against Covid-19 (NTF) reported Thursday.
The NTF vaccination dashboard data showed 22,354,429 have received the first shot while 17,675,959 have completed two doses.
The average daily jabs administered in the last seven days stood at 407,696 doses with 2,010 operating vaccination sites nationwide.
Vaccine czar and NTF chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said more than 34 million Covid-19 vaccines are slated to be delivered within this month.
The Philippines has so far accumulated 57,547,610 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, Galvez reported during the Talk to the People of President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday night televised on Thursday morning.
He added more supplies of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be delivered within this month.
Galvez thanked the World Health Organization (WHO) for relentlessly coordinating with the vaccine donors from other countries to assist the country in securing more Covid-19 vaccines.
“Nagkaroon na po ng pronouncement ang WHO (The WHO has made pronouncements) for additional 10 million doses of Pfizer,” he said.
The Philippines is slated to receive government-procured 12 million doses of Sinovac, 10 million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech through COVAX Facility, five million doses of government-purchased Pfizer, four million doses of government and private sector-procured Moderna, one million doses of Sputnik Light, one million doses of the private sector and LGU-procured AstraZeneca, and one million doses donated by a partner country.
The government targets to achieve population protection by end of this year by inoculating 70 percent of the country’s 110 million estimated total population.
