Melissa Ricks tells more about her ‘simple’ wedding ceremony in California
More photos and details have been shared by actress Melissa Ricks on social media about her recently-held wedding in the United States.
Melissa tied the knot with Michael Macatangay on May 23, Sunday, which, she said, was “made special” by her closest friends and relatives in California in just three weeks.
The actress narrated that she and her husband started their special day by going to the grocery to get snacks and sodas for their guests, bought churros and tacos, and then went home to get themselves prepared for the wedding ceremony.
“I did my own hair and makeup, zipped myself into my gown, drove down to the chapel, had a simple ceremony with 15 people,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
“Afterwards we had the reception in my step-dad’s backyard. Couldn’t get any simpler than that,” she added.
In another post, Melissa talked about her wedding gown made by a Batangas-based designer, Lauren Berberabe, sharing that it was actually her husband who had “more participation” in deciding for the gown, from the fabric choice to its design.
“I honestly didn’t know what I wanted to wear, what I knew is I wanted it simple and comfortable, and that’s exactly how it was,” she wrote.
The actress added that before she could even talk with Lauren, Michael already had a discussion with the designer.
“Love how hands-on he was!’ she said.
Happenings on their wedding day were shared over Melissa’s Instagram stories last Monday (Manila time).
“Five years ago I was in a totally different place in my life, I wouldn’t think I would be where I am today. God has truly been good, he has answered my prayers as he has promised,” she said in another Instagram post on Wednesday, along with a photo of her sitting beside Michael, laughing cheerfully.
The couple got engaged in August 2020. In a video she posted last year after their engagement, Melissa narrated how she was “very thankful and blessed” that God made Michael come into her life.
