NCRPO disaster response gets boost with P1.1-M new equipment
MANILA – The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Monday turned over various search and rescue equipment worth PHP1.1 million to its Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB).
In a statement, NCRPO chief, Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said the equipment will boost the RMFB’s rescue capability in times of disaster.
The equipment includes nine plastic spine boards with strap, nine equipment bag, 18 floater tubes/life rings, 11 floodlights; 90 floating vests; 72 rescue headlights; 72 rescue helmets; nine sets of first aid kit; nine sets of rescue ropes in various sizes; nine 36-inch chainsaws; two rescue boats with accessories; and two units of outboard motor (OBM).
“We have learned from the past typhoons, thus, I am giving paramount priority to Search and Rescue. Mananatiling ang kaligtasan at kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan ang ating prayoridad. Suklian natin ang tiwala at pagmamahal na kanilang binibigay sa pamamagitan ng Pag Seserbisyong TAMA: Tapat, may Tapang at Malasakit para sa Mamamayan at sa ikabubuti ng buong sambayanan (The safety and welfare of our countrymen will remain our priority. Let us reciprocate the trust and love they give through right quality of service — honest, courageous, and with compassion and for the good of the entire people),” he said.
Danao also reminded RMFB troops to handle the equipment with care.
Also on Monday, the NCRPO distributed food items such as rice, instant noodles, canned sardines, and personal protective equipment such as face masks and face shields to the different districts of Metro Manila and the RMFB.
Danao assured that all the donations given to NCRPO will be shared with the poorest of the poor barangays through the NCRPO “Serbisyong Tama: Caravan sa Barangay Program”.
“Sisiguraduhin natin na ang kapulisan sa Metro Manila ay laging handang tumulong sa sa mamamayan sa anumang pamamaraan (We will make sure that the police in Metro Manila are always ready to help the people in any way),” said Danao.
