‘Rolly’ damage now almost P18-B: NDRRMC
MANILA – The damage to infrastructure and agriculture caused by Super Typhoon Rolly has reached nearly PHP18 billion.
In an update on Wednesday noon, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) executive director Ricardo Jalad placed the damage to infrastructure at PHP12.86 billion, incurred in the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Eastern Visayas, and the Cordillera region, as well as the National Capital Region (NCR).
Meanwhile, damage to agriculture was estimated at PHP5 billion in Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Cordillera and NCR, with some 65,897 hectares of farmlands affected by the super typhoon.
Houses damaged were placed at 170,773, with 37,449 classified as “totally damaged” and 133,324 considered as “partially damaged”.
These were recorded in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, and the Cordillera region.
The death toll from “Rolly stands at 25, with 399 injured, and six missing in Ilocos, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Bicol.
