Ed Sheeran finally posts update on Instagram to announce birth of his daughter

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has been inactive on Instagram for more than eight months, but on Tuesday, he surprised his 31.4 million followers with a major life update.

Posting a photo of a blanket along with a tiny pair of socks in the middle, Sheeran announced that he and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, welcomed their first child, Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, last week.

“We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here,” he wrote in the caption.

“We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time.

Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x,” he continued.

Fans and friends of the 29-year-old singer were delighted to hear the news and congratulated the couple on the birth of their baby girl.

Sheeran’s last post on Instagram was on December 24, 2019, where he announced that he would be taking another break again.

He said that he has been “a bit non-stop” since 2017 so he decided to “take a breather to travel, write, and read.

” He expressed gratitude to his “amazing” fans and promised them that he will be back with some new music “when the time is right.”

“The Divide era and tour changed my life in so many ways, but now it’s all over, it’s time to go out and see some more of the world,” he said.

Sheeran unveiled his latest album, “No.

6 Collaborations Project,” last July 2019, which includes songs “I Don’t Care” with Justin Bieber, “Beautiful People” featuring Khalid, and “Put It All On Me” featuring Ella Mai, among others.
