Covid-19 death toll climbs to 71, cases now 1,418

MANILA — The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 343 additional cases positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the total number of cases in the country to 1,418.

In its 4 p.m. case bulletin, the DOH also reported seven new recoveries, bringing the total number of recovered cases in the country to 42.

These are patients 204, 358, 135, 122, 114, 109 and 88.

Patient 204 is a 32-year-old Filipino female from Makati City with no travel history but with exposure to a known Covid-19 case.

She experienced symptoms on March 8 and was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on March 18. She was discharged on March 26 asymptomatic with 1 negative result.

Patient 358 is a 35-year-old Filipino male from Quezon City with no travel and exposure history.

He had the symptoms on March 6 and was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on March 21. He was discharged on March 28 asymptomatic with 1 negative result.

Patient 135 is a 13-year-old Filipino female from Quezon City. She is related to a known Covid-19 case.

She had the symptoms on March 4 and was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on March 15. She was discharged on March 16 asymptomatic with one negative result.

Patient 122 is a 41-year-old Filipino male from Tarlac with no travel history.

He had the symptoms on March 9 and was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on March 10. He was discharged on March 23 asymptomatic with one negative result.

Patient 114 is a 35-year-old Filipino male from Caloocan City with travel history from Japan.

He had the symptoms on March 9 and was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on March 14. He was discharged on March 21 asymptomatic with one negative result.

Patient 109 is a 44-year-old Filipino male from Pasig City with no travel history.

He had the symptoms on March 1 and was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on March 15. He was discharged on March 21 asymptomatic with 1 negative result.

Patient 88 is a 33-year old Filipino male from San Juan City with no travel and exposure history. He had the symptoms on March 9 and was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on March 14. He was discharged on March 23 asymptomatic with 1 negative result.

The DOH also reported three new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths to 71.

They are patients 859, 900 and 718.

Patient 859 is a 70-year old Filipino male from Quezon City with no travel history.

He was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on March 26 but died on March 23.

He died from cardiopulmonary arrest; acute respiratory failure; community-acquired high-risk secondary to Covid-19. He also had hypertension, diabetes, and bronchial asthma.

Patient 900 is a 71-year old Filipino male from Iloilo with no travel history.

He died on March 21 but was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on March 27.

He died from acute respiratory distress syndrome, community-acquired pneumonia high risk secondary to Covid-19. He also had hypertension, cardiac disease and dengue.

Patient 718 is a 78-year old Filipino male from Manila with no travel history.

He was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on March 25 and died on March 26.

He died from acute respiratory distress syndrome secondary to Covid-19. He also had hypertension and chronic kidney disease.
