MANILA— The Pasig City government has provided a two-month payment extension for all monetary and non-monetary obligations falling on March 1 to May 31 this year amid the enhanced community quarantine period.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Tuesday announced the deadline extension on his Twitter account, as the city imposed a strict implementation on “social distancing” among residents in the city.

He said since there are still some individuals going to the city hall to pay their obligations, he encouraged his constituents to stay home.

Stay home po muna tayo. Extended po ang deadline. (We must stay home first. The deadline is extended),” he said, noting that the city will provide a “no interest rate” policy for all obligations.

The monetary obligations include real property tax (RPT), business taxes, transfer taxes, amusement taxes, franchise taxes garbage and inspection fees and rent for Mega Market stallholders.

Non-monetary obligations include sanitary permit and City Environment & Natural Resources Office (CENRO)-environmental permit to operate, submission of the certified list of professionals, calibration sealing of instruments of weights and measures.

“These are all without penalties. For RPT, early payments discounts are still available,” Sotto assured the payees, adding that the city is doubling its efforts to contain the spread of the 2019 coronavirus disease.
