MANILA – The Manila Cathedral will pray the rosary starting on March 25, at 9 p.m. and every Wednesday night, in response to the invitation of Pope Francis.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the cathedral said it decided to hold the Healing Rosary for the World every week after many people supported the initial holding of the event last week.
The praying of the rosary on Wednesday for healing and protection will be led by the Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle from the Vatican.
“Because of the overwhelming response of Filipinos who joined our worldwide rosary, we are now initiating every Wednesday night the HEALING ROSARY FOR THE WORLD. This Wednesday, March 25, Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, at 9 p.m. local time, His Eminence Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle will be leading us in the praying of the Rosary live from the Pontificio Collegio Filippino in Rome,” the Manila Cathedral said.
Catholics who want to join the prayer may watch the live stream of the event on the Cathedral’s social media account.
“Please go to our Facebook page and press the LIKE and FOLLOW buttons so you can watch the live stream and let us again as one nation, pray for healing and protection,” it added.
On March 19, Fr. Reginald R. Malicdem, Rector of the Cathedral led the praying of the rosary.
“The initiative is to create a continuous chain of praying the rosary when your country’s time zone enters. Tonight at 9 p.m. is our turn here in the Philippines,” the Cathedral said in its earlier post.
“Thank you to these celebrities who joined thousands of families in our worldwide rosary campaign last week! Tomorrow, we will be together again, March 25 Wednesday at 9 p.m., to pray as one for healing and protection for the world,” the cathedral added.
