Papal nuncio ends tour of duty in PH Dec. 22

MANILA— Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Caccia is ending his tour of duty on December 22, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported on Friday.
The announcement was made a day after the Pope’s envoy, who also serves as the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in the country, made his farewell call to Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr.
Locsin, together with DFA assistant secretaries and other officials, thanked Caccia for his dedicated work and wished him well on his next posting.
After his stint in Manila, Caccia will be serving as the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations in New York.
Caccia has served as the Apostolic Nuncio in Manila and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps since Dec.
6, 2017.
The Archbishop was joined by the Counsellor of the Apostolic Nunciature, Monsignor Julien Kaboré, and the Nunciature’s Secretary, Monsignor Gabriel Viola.
