MANILA — The Philippine National Police-Civil Security Group (PNP-CSG) announced on Friday that it relieved 40 police officers for alleged involvement in corruption.

CSG director, Maj. Gen. Roberto Fajardo, said the move is the second batch of relieved personnel in compliance with orders of President Rodrigo Duterte on the strict implementation of the ‘ease of doing business’ law, particularly on the processing of simple transactions in all government agencies.

The Firearms and Explosives Office-(FEO), Supervisory Office for Security and Investigative Agency (SOSIA) is under the supervision of CSG.

Fajardo said that he is determined to deter, if not stop the corruption surrounding the walls of CSG, SOSIA and FEO in consonance with the directive of the President to further streamline the processing of government transactions to a minimum of three working days.

“The problem in CSG, SOSIA and FEO is systematic and rooted.

We will continue to implement relieve as initial action to correct the problem. This only means that the public should expect more relieved to follow and encourages them to report all forms of anomaly they knew and are still going,” Fajardo told reporters in a press briefing held at Camp Crame.

Fajardo said that he implemented the reorganization following name-calling such as “Police na Pixer” for police officers and “Non-Uniformed Pixer” for civilian employees.

He reminded his personnel in the frontline desk to continuously remain humble and approachable to all clientele and stakeholders and “Always serve with a smile”.

Last month, Fajardo relieved 27 police officers which include the deputy chiefs from FEO, SOSIA, and the CSG for their alleged involvement in corruption.
