Heated conversations about the recently concluded Binibining Pilipinas 2019 Grand Coronation Night continue as Binibining Pilipinas International 1991 Patty Betita receives flack from netizens after she shares an image on her Instagram stories from last Sunday, June 9 revealing that she enjoyed her encounter with Kapamilya actor Daniel Padilla more than meeting actor-singer James Reid.

Patty posts a selfie with Daniel captioned, “By the way, Daniel Padilla is much nicer and accommodating than James Reid,” and uses the caption ‘#fortherecord.’

Jadine fans expressed their disappointment in Patty, shaming her “for giving a chance for others to bash James.” One Twitter user wrote, “For the record, James went there to do his job. To judge the beauty contestants, not for a photo op.  It’s not a Meet-and-Greet session or to promote something he endorses,” while another added, “Cut James (and any celebrity) some slack. They don’t always have to heed to people’s wishes.”

In response to the criticism, the model immediately apologizes by taking to Twitter last Monday, June 10. She states, “I didn’t realize the gravity of what I thought was just my opinion .. obviously made so many #Jadine fans seething with anger attacking me. I sincerely apologize if I hurt your feelings. I judged an innocent guy and made a careless comment,” adding, “Respect begets respect. Thank you to the others who personally messaged me and encouraged me to just come out on Twitter where I guess the #fortherecord was created alluding to me and humbly apologize.

Both Daniel and James were involved with the event as judges, while Patty sat in the audience with fellow beauty queens.
