Catriona Gray hailed as ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’ by Esquire
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray from the Philippines is named ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’ for Esquire Philippines’ newest edition. The 25-year-old beauty queen is posing in the front of the digital magazine wearing a black swimsuit in a bathtub dubbed, “Miss Gray Will See You Now,” referring to the iconic Fifty Shades of Grey.
In a Facebook post shared by the publication last Monday, April 1, they exclaim, “The sensuous and intelligent Catriona Gray—Esquire Philippines’ Sexiest Woman Alive 2019—makes us believe that God is a woman.” The writeup by contributor Audrey Carpio describes the beauty queen saying, “The instant she lifted her head and threw back her hair, she turned into her own personal Sasha Fierce alter ego.
Her eyes gleamed, her body took on more sensuous angles, and her hair seemed to float on its own accord. ‘God is a woman,’ Catriona belted along to Ariana Grande, posing in sync to the music and making us believe.”
The magazine also expresses that they admire the philanthropist’s “pure heart” and “simplicity.”
Esquire also explains that ‘sexiest woman alive’ translates to them as “women who have made an impact, women who are unapologetic about their smarts, and women who make a career out of simply being awesome.” In 2016, they also applaud Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach with the same title.
A few of the other celebrities that have been considered with that description include ABS-CBN news anchor Karen Davila, model/actress Solenn Heussaff, and Rappler Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Maria Ressa.
Filipino-Australian Catriona is the fourth candidate from the Philippines to win the prestigious Miss Universe crown. She is currently based in New York as she completes her reign. She visited her home country most recently in February to throw a homecoming parade.
