Kapamilya actor and singer Marlo Mortel went to Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro to give his fans a gift by serenading them at the municipality’s 68th founding anniversary celebration — but it turns out that it was not only the residents who got surprised.

On Thursday, March 28, Marlo posted a video of what he said one of his few “wild encounters” during his shows; however this time, he “actually got scared.”

In the video, Marlo was seen singing a rendition of Jroa’s “Di Ako F*ckboy” on the stage while he put his arm around the shoulder of his girl fan. The lady was trying to have a selfie with Marlo when suddenly, a man went up to the stage and joined them in the photo taking, even gesturing a ‘thumbs-up’ pose.

Although he was seen a little confused about what happened, Marlo, as any performer would do, did not stop singing. He, however, was interrupted when an event organizer and a police officer went up to the stage to escort the man away. The man, on the other hand, was saying something to Marlo as he stared at the young star with rage in his eyes while pointing at the girl fan.

After the two left the stage, the audience cheered Marlo and he eventually continued serenading the residents in Mamburao town.

In his post, Marlo admitted that he did not know how to react after the incident happened.

“We were told that he was drunk,” said Marlo.

He continued, “As performers, we put ourselves in a vulnerable position every time we go out. We genuinely want to make you guys happy but we do ask for a little bit of respect in return. Tao lang din po kami (We are also human).”

His fans expressed their support in the comment section, saying that they are proud of how Marlo professionally handled the situation.

“So proud pa rin sayo kuya MARLO kahit na may lumapit sayo na lasing parang wala lang nangyare at pinag patuloy mo parin ang performance mo para mapasaya ang mga tao (We are still so proud of you Kuya Marlo even though there was a drunk man who went near to you, but you acted like nothing has happened and continued your performance to make the people happy),” said netizen @lycarlolarte.
