Director James Jimenez (left), says that the poll body has designated common poster areas for candidates to put up their campaign materials during the National Press Club of the Philippines (NPC) media forum, entitled “Election Pulse” held at the NPC Building in Intramuros, Manila on Friday (Feb. 15, 2019). Jimenez also appealed to the public report any violations of candidates running in the 2019 mid-term elections so that the Comelec can file charges against them. He also encouraged the voters to take photos of the candidates, who violate the rules with complete details and send to their office. Also in photo is NPC President Rolly “Lakay” Gonzalo. MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Tuesday asked voters to familiarize themselves on the official ballots to be used in the May 2019 midterm polls.

Poll body spokesperson James Jimenez said it is good for the electorate to look at the ballot face which can be viewed at their official website.

“We want the public to be able to see the ballots for themselves, ahead of time. This will allow them more opportunities to study their options and to familiarize themselves with the ballot itself,” the poll body official added.

On Saturday, the Comelec posted the templates of the official ballots, which are divided into their respective regions, provinces, and towns/cities in its website.

Meanwhile, the poll body adjusted the timelines for the verification, certification, and posting of the Posted Computerized Voters List (PCVL).

Based on Comelec Resolution No. 10500, the new deadline for the Verification and Certification of the PCVL has been moved from February 7 to March 25.

Also, the Posting of the Certified PCVL was reset to March 29 from its original schedule on February 12.

“Due to the delay in the deployment of the continuous forms needed by the field offices in the printing of the PCVL, the following activities with corresponding timelines will be affected,” the resolution added.

Under the Voter’s Registration Act, PCVLs must be posted in the Offices of the Election Officer and in the bulletin board of each city/municipal hall 90 days before election day.
