Filipina representative Francesca Taruc from Pampanga held the Philippine flag high and proud as she continued the country’s pageant winning streak by bagging the Miss Tourism World Intercontinental crown last Tuesday, January 8 in Nanjing, China.

During the pageant preliminaries, the 20-year-old was already presented with the “Best Body,” then stunning the judges during the coronation night with her red Benj Leguiab IV gown that was embellished with three stars and a sun. The gown designer re-posted a photo of Francesca wearing his creation on his Instagram, captioned, “Another Pinay Queen who made our country Proud! Congratulations Francesca Taruc for winning Miss City tourism World Intercontinental 2019 She is wearing my Red Gown inspired by the 3 stars and a Sun. Congratulations to the whole team!”

A few hours afterwards, Francesca posted on her own social media page, sharing a video from GMA News announcing her victory, stating, “I’m still speechless! We did it, Philippines! Mabuhay!”

Miss Tatarstan and Miss Ukraine were also crowned during the night as first and second runners-up respectively.

Francesca is a graduate from Holy Angel University in Angeles City, Pampanga with a degree in Mass Communication. She shared that her father advised her to prioritize her studies before competing for the pageant internationally. On the side, the beauty queen is also a model and vlogger.
