After the announcement of their rule adjustments, the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is inching even closer to their 44th season opening as the team officials announce their muses for the opening during the same press conference last Tuesday, January 8.

Representing crowd favorite Barangay Ginebra is Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, while former Ateneo Lady Eagle volleybelle Alyssa Valdez is supporting boyfriend Kiefer Ravena’s NLEX squad by being their muse.

Valdez’s fellow volleyball star Myla Pablo will join hands with swimmer Jasmine Alkhaldi for the Blackwater Elite. Magnolia’s brand endorser Sharon Cuneta will banner the Governors’ Cup champions name, while another Kapamilya talent, Yam Concepcion, will represent the Phoenix Fuelmasters. Klea Pineda is the muse of the Alaska Aces, while the final name announced is Kylie Verzosa, Miss International 2016, and will be representing the San Miguel Beermen. NorthPort is represented by Mutya Ng Pilipinas Tourism International 2018 Aya Fernandez.

Talk N Text (TnT), Columbian, and Rain or Shine (RoS) have not yet announced their muses.

These beauty queens, athletes, and celebrities complete the list of stunning faces that will grace the opening ceremony at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan next Sunday, January 13.

Valdez was actually one of the first muses to be announced even prior to the press conference, with NLEX team governor Rodrigo Franco stating that the Creamline superstar was a “true-blue supporter of the Road Warriors.” He stated, “We chose Valdez because she embodies the values of excellence, grit, and resilience — which reflect Coach Yeng Guiao and the Road Warriors’ own philosophy,” adding, “At the same time, it was important to us to choose someone who wouldn’t just represent our team in name only… She attends our games, and continues to support the squad even as Kiefer is currently unable to play.”

In the meantime, most recent news also circulated that Blackwater was interested in being represented by Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, but team governor Silliman Sy clarified that was an impossibility due to Gray’s duties. “She is actually our model but since she is owned by the Miss Universe, she becomes the property of Miss Universe,” he says, but adds, “Probably in Season 45.”
