Jessy Mendiola finally speaks out about airplane incident regarding Enrique Gil
Twenty-six-year-old Kapamilya actress Jessy Mendiola officially shares her perspective on the airplane situation with Enrique Gil that occurred more than three years ago on September 15, 2018.
Last Monday, December 3, during a press conference for her new film “The Girl in the Orange Dress,” Mendiola admitted her experience of two years of depression due to the negativity she experienced online. She even shared that she “has a doctor” for her mental health and “is not afraid to admit that.” One of the causes of her emotions includes the encounter with actor Enrique Gil, who was intoxicated during a flight and was supposedly harassing Jessy. In turn, her long-time boyfriend Luis Manzano ended up in a fist fight with the Forevermore actor.
Jessy shares that since then, because she can’t prevent being in the same vicinity as Enrique because they’re under the same management, she has moved on. She states in Filipino, “Star Magic is very sensitive and makes sure they don’t put us close together or in the same room,” adding, “And if we do bump into each other, actually, I do see him from afar, but we have not had an opportunity to talk.” She even states that the situation is “already done” and did not immediately reject the idea of working with Enrique in the future.
When touching on the topic of her depression, Jessy also attributes “bashing and cyberbullying” to have “really affected [her],” but she states, “Within two years, I had to work on myself to heal,” concluding, “Now, I’m really proud to say that I’m really okay. I’m healed.”
“The Girl in the Orange Dress” is set to be released under Quantum Films, Star Cinema, and MJM Productions during the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this 2018.
