The four members of South Korean group Blackpink has announced their Philippine leg of their Asian “In Your Area” tour, which is happening on February 2, 2019, at the Mall of Asia Arena. This is the first time the group is performing in the Philippines.

The group, comprised of Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa, announced the details of their tour on their official Facebook account. Besides the Philippines, Blackpink will also go to Bangkok, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei. The tour spans from January 12, 2019 to March 3, 2019.

After the announcement of Blackpink’s concert, which was made on November 1, 2018, Philippine fans were quick to express their excitement. Mariana Mayorga posts on Twitter, “Am I the only one whose heart suddenly beats a triple times and was about to cry when I read that Blackpink is coming here to the Philippines? Like, OMJ? They’re coming? Finally! But wait, how can I buy a ticket if I don’t even own hammer bong.”

An account under the name ‘Monica’ states, “Selling one kidney for blackpink tickets,” another named ‘Stef’ saying, “Blackpink is going to Manila, OMG, I have been preparing for this everyday in class!”

Blackpink launched in 2016 under YG management and is most known for their tracks “Square Up” and “Ddu Du Ddu Du,” which is the lead single of their debut EP. They made headlines in October as they released their track “Kiss and Make Up” with Dua Lipa, part of the English singer’s super deluxe edition of her self-titled album.
