Pia Wurtzbach shares how she got her Miss Universe figure back
With the announcement of being the liquor brand Ginebra San Miguel’s calendar girl for 2019, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach reveals how she got her body back for “the first time she did a swimsuit photoshoot since competing in the Miss Universe pageant.”
During a press conference that revealed the news, Pia shares how she let her body go for a year after her reign but was motivated to get her competition physique back, saying, I want to feel confident and good about myself. That’s why I wanted to do this campaign right. I don’t want to look as if I simply rushed myself into getting fit just so I could do the photo shoot. I wanted to represent the brand and myself in a way that looks strong.” With that, she thanks the local company for being “gracious enough” to give her time because through that, she was “able to do it.” Answering how, Pia says, “It’s really about discipline. You can have a great trainer, but if you go home and don’t follow and you’re not consistent, nothing will happen.”
The beauty queen, who has been sharing her fitness journey on social media for the past few months, states that she does not want to relieve her consistency only because the calendar has already been released. “Healthy living na talaga,” is her mantra, sharing that her next goal is to join a marathon. Pia tells reporters, “I want to see how far I can go with my body.”
The 29-year-old is known for her ‘Never Give Up’ spirit, joining national pageant Binibining Pilipinas thrice before reaching the international level. When asked what advice she’d give to young women aspiring to have the same determination, Pia firmly states, “Just keep trying to work on achieving what you’ve always wanted to do.”
Some of the other celebrities who have been Ginebra San Miguel’s calendar girls in the past include Marian Rivera, Georgina Wilson, Arci Muñoz, Myrtle Sarrosa, and Solenn Heussaff.
