Kapamilya actress Coleen Garcia revealed to her social media followers why she almost did not attend the ABS-CBN Ball that happened last Saturday, September 29.

After attending Paris Fashion Week a few days before, the 26-year-old actress immediately flew back for Manila. On her flight from France to Thailand, eventually connecting to Manila, Coleen got terrible food poisoning and “did not sleep AT ALL and kept vomiting on the way back.

“It was so bad,” she wrote in an Instagram post, “Once I landed in BKK, I didn’t have much time but I was STRUGGLING to not pass out while walking in the airport!”

Coleen, alone at the time, elaborated on how the situation continued to get worse, saying, “My vision was a blur, my body felt like it was melting & my head was spinning so bad, so I went straight to the nearest restroom & collapsed in the cubicle before continuing to throw up what was left of my guts. I inched my way to the lounge & the same thing happened until I heard my name being called, so with all my energy, I ran to the gate.”

As a result, she missed her flight but was able to change it at no additional cost. She arrived in Manila at 7 pm, just one hour later than the ABS-CBN call time, but had not fit her gown ahead of time.

She said, “On top of that, I was told that one of my bags got left behind. All of this after Paris, where I had multiple events per day.”

Ending her post on a high note, however, Coleen concluded by stating, “The reason why I’m sharing this is because I’m blessed to know wonderful people who gladly came through when I needed it the most.”

Coleen successfully arrived at the carpet without showing any tiredness with her husband Billy Crawford. She captivated the press in a form-fitting gold gown by Patricia Santos.
