MANILA — President Rodrigo R. Duterte has appointed two new assistant secretaries to the Department of Tourism (DOT) and promoted a set of police officers to a higher rank.

Duterte appointed Leila Rivera and Howard Lance Andrada Uyking to replace Eden David and Daniel Mercado.

Rivera was a former director at the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Local Government and Regional Coordination Bureau while Uyking was a former director at the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO)’s Bureau of Communications Services.

The President signed their appointment papers last September 20 but were released to media on Monday (September 24).

Meanwhile, Duterte also promoted the following police officers to the rank of Chief Superintendent (Brigadier General) — Rodolfo Santos Azurin Jr., Bernabe Mendoza Balba, Benigno Bugay Durana Jr.

Also promoted from the rank of Superintendent (Lieutenant Colonel) to Senior Superintendent (Colonel) are Jeric Pulma Villanueva, Policarpio Catungal Cayabyab Jr., Reynaldo delos Reyes Pasiwen, Owen Sauro Andarino, Gemma Cruz Vinluan, Christopher Nortez Abrahano, Ramil Ramones Montilla, Lawrence Bonifacio Cajipe, Jean Salvador Fajardo, and Roderick Diwas Minong.
