Tarro lifted a total of 86 kilograms compared to the 53 of Nonod.

Delos Santos, on the other hand, dominated the under-38 kilogram category, being the only weightlifter who breached the 100-kilogram mark by amassing 107 kilos against the 75-kilogram score of silver medalist Carl Paparon of Tagbilaran and the 52-kilogram total of bronze medallist Crimson Madiwo of Hungduan.

Rodriguez then won the over-38 kilogram category, topping the event with a 115-kilogram lift compared to the 100 kilograms of Cebu City’s June Padahag and the 70 kilograms of Hungduan’s Tristan Dag-O.

Alberto Bacaro Jr. grabbed the only other gold in the boys U-12 weightlifting event, highlighting a 1-3 finish for Cebu City in a tight under-30 kilogram battle.
