MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga as associate justice of the Court of Appeals (CA).

Duterte signed the appointment paper of Gonzaga on June 19, replacing Romeo Barza who was designated by Duterte as presiding justice of the appellate court in December last year.

Prior to her appointment, Gonzaga was a judge in Panabo City, Davao del Norte.

Malacanang released the appointment paper of Gonzaga on Friday, two days after it announced the appointment of Emily Alino-Geluz, also as CA associate justice.

Geluz, whose appointment paper was signed on April 30, replaced Leoncia R. Dimagiba.

Dimagiba, a native of San Jacinto, Masbate, retired in December last year after serving CA as associate justice for more than eight years.

Gonzaga and Geluz have been chosen by the President from a shortlist of seven aspirants submitted by the Judicial and Bar Council
