Duterte to meet with 3,000 Pinoys in SoKor

MYEONGDONG, South Korea — A few hours after arriving here on board a commercial flight past 4 a.m., President Rodrigo R. Duterte will meet with more or less 3,000 Filipinos working and residing in Seoul, at the Hilton Hotel and Convention Center at around 3 p.m. (Philippine time) Sunday.

The President, who is on his first official visit to the Republic of Korea slated June 3-5, was accompanied by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque Jr., Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol, Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, Science and Technology Secretary Fortunato dela Peña, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, and Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go.

Duterte was warmly welcomed by Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Raul S. Hernandez.

Ambassador Hernandez said the Filipino community in South Korea fully supports the Presidents campaign against illegal drugs, corruption and criminality.

On Monday, June 4, Duterte is expected to lead the wreath laying at the National Cemetery in honor of soldiers, leaders and heroes of South Korea.

Duterte is also scheduled to have a closed-door meeting with South Korea President Moon Jae-in at the Blue House in the afternoon of June 4.
