Heart, Chiz lose one of their twins
Just a week after announcing to the world that their family will grow larger, Heart Evangelista that she and her husband Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero had to say goodbye to one of the twins in her womb.
According to the 33-year-old actress, the twin pregnancy was a surprise tied to the happy news of her pregnancy.
However, a few days after Mother’s Day, Heart already faces one of the biggest pains a mother can ever face.
“Unfortunately, one of the embryos was smaller and behind in terms of development and so we lost one of the twins,” Heart wrote in an Instagram post.
“Our hearts were heavy at the thought but we knew we had to focus on the good,” she continued.
Heart shared a photo of the twins in an ultrasound scan, showing that the other embryo was “healthy and showing more positive signs of development.”
“If there’s one thing I’ve learned about motherhood this early on, it’s that it won’t always be sunshine and butterflies, sometimes there will be cloudy moments,” she further wrote, then adding, “But it’s these ups and downs that I know will make me a stronger Mom.”
Despite the heartbreak, Heart thanked her husband who has been with her through it all.
At the end of her post, Heart noted that some of the developments in her pregnancy happened weeks ago but it is only now that she decided to share.
In another post she made a few days just after she announced her pregnancy, she said that she was thankful for everyone who has been supportive and who has been congratulating them, and promises to let everyone know her journey to motherhood.
“I’m overwhelmed by all the kind words and congratulations. Don’t worry, you’ll be seeing more of me from now on. I can’t wait to share with you this exciting new part of my life,” she wrote.
This is the actress’s first pregnancy ever since they tied the knot back in 2015.
