Two old friends meet again at the Rimowa dinner #aluminumoriginal

Dubbed by Heart Evangelista as her ‘one true love’ that ended with them parting ways to be in the arms of another, Jericho Rosales opens up on the epilogue of their love story.

Who knew that a chanced snapshot by Tim Yap of the former couple’s “reunion” in an exclusive celebrity dinner would circulate and be feasted upon by netizens as something “like in a movie?” Though both celebrities have now tied their own knots to different partners, people rode the “feels trip” of seeing them together in one frame.

It can be recalled that their you-and-me-against-the-world love story met its end nine years ago. In an interview in 2012, Heart said that Jericho was her “greatest love” and that staying in a nippa hut eating everyday in a carinderia still seemed to be the best kind of life she would have loved.

After their breakup, Jericho was crying in front of national television, claiming that the “lies” being fed to Heart caused them to eventually end their television drama-like relationship.

Heart eventually married Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero, and Jericho found Kim Jones as his partner for life.

A few years flipping, Jericho faces the world with a different viewpoint.

“Heart and I handled it like mature people. Tapos na ‘yung episode ng buhay namin na ‘yun (That episode of our lives is now over),” Jericho said during the press conference of Siargao, an upcoming film he is starring in.

He even said that this was not the first time and he and his ex-girlfriend met.

Mas maraming beses na kaming nagkikita lagi sa events tuwing magkasama kami lagi ni (We already met each other in events when I am with) Kim,” the 38-year-old actor further said.

For Jericho, their world seemed to be lighter now that the waters have calmed down.

Makakagalaw tayo nang maayos na walang nanghuhusga at kung ano-ano, ‘di ba (We can move freely in a world where there is no judgement or any of sort right)?” he said.

Meanwhile, Heart also saw it as all part of the past now.

“Whatever happened before, sobrang tagal na noon (it was so long ago). We’ve both moved on at may kanya-kanya na kaming buhay (we have our own lives now),” Heart said in a separate interview.

It may have been a “Lala Land” moment for the two, but what matters in their story is that even though they ended up separating, they both found their own happiness.
