Fans of Carlo Aquino and Angelica Panganiban, fondly dubbed as CarGel, can now rejoice for the two are to return to the big screen.

Star Cinema had just confirmed that the former lovers on screen and in real life will work on a movie.

May konting kilig, tapos may konting sakit. Kasi syempre matured na kami, hindi naman pwedeng puro kilig-kilig na lang (There is a bit of a light romantic excitement, but also a bit of pain. Because both of us are matured already, so it should not be all about light romance),” Carlo was quoted as saying in a PUSH interview.

The last project that he and Angelica worked on according to Carlo was still a 2014 episode from the longest drama anthology in television, Maalala Mo Kaya (MMK), so he is really excited for this.

Carlo also mentioned that Director Dan Villegas might direct their upcoming movie.

Kung sakali, ito ‘yung first major project ko with Direk Dan kasi no’ng una ko siyang nakatrabaho is with Gerald [Anderson] and Arci [Muñoz] ‘yung ‘Always Be My Maybe’ na movie. Eh parang four days lang ako don (If ever, this will be my first major project with Director Dan since when I first worked with him, it was a movie with Gerald Anderson and Arci Munoz in ‘Always Be My Maybe.’  I think I worked for only four days in that project),” Carlo shared.

Earlier, Carlo already hinted that he and Angelica will be working on a movie.

May mga script na pinapadala. Kapag tuloy na tuloy na, kami muna, tapos kayo na ‘yung [sunod na] makakaalam (There are scripts being sent. So when it will really push through, we will be the first to know, then you will be the next),” Carlo said in an interview with ABS-CBN in February.

The two stars who dated in their teenage years stayed as the closest of friends until today, which has their fans hoping for a part two of their onscreen loveteam and real-life continuation of their previous relationship.

In separate interviews, both of them confirmed that they are single and are open to dating each other again, and this has fueled their fanbase more.
