MANILA — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) expects more Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) employees to be regularized soon.

“On a nationwide basis, you can think of more than 10,000 to 50,000 considering the bulk of the employees of Jollibee,“ DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III said in an interview Thursday.

“The inspections has been going on and they’re now submitting their own report of the respective regional heads,” he added.

DOLE has given JFC 10 days to appeal the decision of DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR) Director Henry John Jalbuena.

“The decision of the regional director is appealable to me. We have a procedure for that,” he said.

The DOLE chief added that Jalbuena has the power to issue such ruling.

“He has the authority. And if they question the regional director, then they can appeal to me. But, definitely our directors are empowered to do that,” Bello added.

On Wednesday, the DOLE-NCR has ordered the fast food giant to regularize 6,482 workers in Metro Manila. (PNA)
