Bela Padilla clarifies she’s just ‘friends’ with Zanjoe Marudo
As rumors have been flying from town to town whether or not she’s dating actor Zanjoe Marudo, Bela Padilla did something not so out of the ordinary — she shut the rumors down when she revealed the real score between them saying that they are just FRIENDS.
Bela insisted that no one has captured her heart and that no one is worthy of it yet. She said she’s not interested to be in a relationship as of this moment since she, according to her previous interview, chose to focus on her career first.
“Yun nga ang sinasabi ko kanina, na parang feeling ko ay mababalanse ko na ang trabaho ko at personal life ko kapag may na-meet na akong tao na ganun ang ipinaramdam sa akin. Na worth it na huminay-hinay ako (That’s what I’m saying, I feel like I can balance my work and personal life when I meet the person who can make me feel that way. That it’s worth it to take things slow),” Bela was quoted as saying in a Philippine Entertainment Portal report on Tuesday.
Bela, when asked if Zanjoe has made her feel that way, said that the actor is also in the same shoes with her, stressing the he is also at that point in his life.
“Masaya siya sa trabaho niya, kaya ayaw namin guluhin ang isa’t isa (He is happy with his career, that’s why we don’t want to bother each other),” she added.
The actress was then asked if Zanjoe can be a potential boyfriend to her, she answered, “Hindi ko po masabi eh. Hindi ko pa kasi kilala siya on that [level]… siguro, siguro po (I can’t tell. I don’t know him much on that level… maybe, just maybe).”
Bela also mentioned that Zanjoe’s past relationships have been long-term ones, which she said is same with her.
Speaking in Magandang Buhay last January 25, the “Meet me in St. Gallen” actress admitted that choosing her career over her ex-boyfriend was the reason why they had go their separate ways.
She also said that it was her decision to stay single, saying she was left with no choice as she accepted a lot of job offers that led her juggling hundred balls in the air at the same time. Bela further explained that she needs a person who will understand and can cope with her busy schedule.
Both Bela and Zanjoe co-starred together in a television series “Dear Heart.” She now joined Carlo Aquino in their upcoming movie “Meet me in St. Gallen,” which will be showed on the big screen in February 7.
